As Octagon's Managing Director of Golf and Outdoors, Chris Higgs oversees the management and marketing of the company's professional golf and fishing events. Chris began his marketing career in 1984 as an IBM Marketing Executive in Kingston, Jamaica. Since then, he has gained 24 years of experience in the golf and sports industry, consulting events and sponsors on all five continents.
He joined Octagon after spending seven years as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of the LPGA. From 1990 - 2001, Higgs was the President and Chief Operating Officer for Executive Sports International managing the sports marketing enterprise of Jack Nicklaus and Golden Bear International. Higgs has also spent time as a Tournament Director of Executive Sports Incorporated, a golf event management and consulting company. He has managed or directed over 120 LPGA, PGA and Champions Tour events in 3 continents (Asian, North America & South America).
